Happy Together

Our version of the original done by The Turtles!

Old Lady Driver

This is the true story of a high spirited little old lady that needed to hang up her keys.  On 2 separate occasions, she drove her car (literally) into houses on one street in a suburban neighborhood, wiping out the front brick wall on one house, a double set of garage doors, a support beam and basketball hoop on the other house, as well as a rock garden, and lawns and shrubbery in both yards.  On another occasion, she drove into the side of a nearby bank building.  She walked away unscratched from every single incident, and miraculously, no one was hurt.  (Thank God).  She was well into her 90s and an amazing person in many, many ways…but after 3 serious hits it was time to get her off the road!!  This song is a comical tribute to her driving….

LYRICS

(CHORUS )

Old Lady Driver you instill fear in me

Old Lady Driver you instill fear in me

When I came home from work just the other day (the other day)

I drove in to my drive and I saw such disarray (such disarray)

You drove your car across the street and on my lawn (you’re on my lawn)

Now my basketball hoop and garage are gone

CHORUS

A shiny white missile you are on the road (you’re on the road)

God knows who you have hit , God knows who you have told (who have you told)

Two houses and a bank really freak me out (I’m freakin’ out)

Please call a cab if you decide to go out

CHORUS

You have no business being on the road (get off the road)

Throw in the towel and admit you’re just too old (you’re just too old)

Two houses and a bank really freak me out (I’m freakin’ out)

Please call a cab if you decide to go out

CHORUS

Personal Summer

This song is a light-hearted look at what it is like to experience hot flashes. Ladies, you know what we are talking about!!!  🙂   Lyrics are below…

Feeling warm, feeling hot
Feeling baked from the inside out
It feels like summer but it’s only the middle of March
No one else seems to be
Melting just like me
My skin’s on fire and my throat is parched

REFRAIN:
It’s my own personal weather
Can’t stand this sweater
It’s a heat wave and I’m lonely in it
It’s a summer that lasts….about 15 minutes

In the middle of the night   (In the middle of the night…)
When I should be sleeping tight  (I’m not sleeping tight)
The covers get tossed and I can barely breathe (No one else seems to be…)
There is no rhyme or reason  (melting just like me)
And shortly I’ll be freezin’ (There’s no rhyme or reason…)
No wonder I’m always tired and cranky  (why I’m changing seasons)

REFRAIN

You Make Me Feel So Good

Can you imagine what your dog might say if you asked him (or her) to express his feelings?  Dogs are so accepting and happy just to be with their favorite humans.  This fun, upbeat song captures that doggie perspective!  It’s a dog’s life!

I never know where I’m going

I’m never sure where I’ve been

I sometimes know what I’m wanting

But what I know is you’re my friend

You make me feel so good

You make me feel so good

You make me feel so good

I never ask where you come from

I never judge where you’ve been

I sometimes think you’ve got the answer

But what I know is you’re my friend

You make me feel so good

You make me feel so good

You make me feel so good

And on and on the feeling goes

And on and on the friendship grows

And on and on and on and on and on and on…

You make me feel so good

You make me feel so good

You make me feel so good

The Decision

The inspiration for this song came when we were asked to perform at a coffeehouse evening at our church.  The lyrics are spiritual in nature, reflecting on the decision we all must make in our lives on a daily basis regarding how we want to live. When things get tough you can stay in a place of fear and doubt , or you can make the decision to trust in your higher power.  We hope this song inspires you and that you enjoy it!

There are times I feel so broken, I can hardly move at all

I am lost and I’m forsaken, I am feeling 2 feet tall

And I worry ‘bout the future, and I worry ‘bout my past

I am lost and I am lonely, so unsure of what will last

And then I make the decision…. (I want to make a change)

I decide to remember you (I want to trust in you)

And all that you’ve done for me (I want to feel your love)

Who you are and how you lived and died (I want to live in faith)

How can I hang my head and cry?

There are days I feel so empty, wanna run away and hide

I’m not trusting when you’re leading, and I carry too much pride

But together there is nothing that you and I can’t do

I’m a warrior for you and I trust that you’ll come through

And then I make the decision…. (I want to make a change)

I decide to remember you (I want to trust in you)

And all that you’ve done for me (I want to feel your love)

Who you are and how you lived and died (I want to live in faith)

How can I hang my head and cry?  (I’m gonna make a change)

It’s in our dying that we are really born (I’m gonna trust in you)

I’m a warrior for you
